ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
"she/her", LGBTQIA+ IDENTIFIED
Like most therapists, my own life experiences and relationship with therapy are what led me here. As others have done for me, now I can do for others and I am grateful to provide a safe and welcoming space for those needing to share and heal.

My approach to therapy is one that focuses on connection and sharing. I combine "humanistic" and "CBT" techniques; to put it simply, I want you to feel heard and understood and I want to help you enhance your ability to go inward, examine your thoughts, and tolerate your emotions. Other modalities I pull from are IFS, SOMATIC THERAPY, EMDR and DBT.

I truly love having the opportunity to work with individuals and stand by them as they navigate their journey. I hope we have a chance to work together!

EXPERIENCE
I have been working in the fields of education and mental health since 2008. My life experiences guided me toward work with young individuals and their families in hopes of providing them with early intervention to live healthy and fulfilling lives. As time progressed, I chose to treat eating disorders, and I completed the majority of my training doing so at the residential level of care. Additionally, I have worked with individuals who have a primary developmental disability diagnosis. Overall, I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, BPD, and more. I am also trained in EMDR therapy to help people heal from traumas both large and small.
A FEW MORE THOUGHTS TO SHARE
My approach to therapy is not binary; therapy is not one size fits all. I attune myself and approach to your unique needs.
A belief I hold to be true for all is that we are comprised of many parts. We are our ancestors, parents, child self, adolescent self, future self, and so much more. Many aspects come together to make us who we are in the present.

It is common to like or love parts of our self while also feeling anger or frustration toward other parts of our self. For example, one may love their ability to listen well while feeling frustrated that they also have bouts of jealousy. My hope is to get to know you and all the parts that live within you, honor them, and help them heal and thrive.

Therapy is not always a pleasant process, and that is OK. Many things feel or become worse before they get better. So many of us have years of repressed emotions to explore and release. While this may not feel nice in the moment, I believe it leads to freedom, healing, and happiness.
