TRAUMA THERAPY

Serene Lakeside View

Past experiences can continue to show up in the present in ways we don't always recognize. You may find yourself becoming intensely emotional or shutting down during conflict, feeling anxious in certain situations, struggling to trust others, or having reactions that seem bigger than what's happening in the moment. Sometimes we know exactly where these responses come from; other times, we don't.

Triggers can be an opportunity to become curious about what our minds and bodies have learned from earlier experiences. Therapy can help you understand these reactions, identify the experiences and patterns connected to them, and begin responding to the present without feeling as though the past is taking over.

Trauma therapy isn't simply about revisiting painful experiences. It's about understanding how those experiences continue to live within you and helping you develop greater safety, awareness, and choice in the present.
